Full Life Member
Medical practitioners registered in India under the IMC Act 1956, holding a recognised postgraduate surgical qualification (including specialties), and of Indian nationality.
Associate Life Member
Registered practitioners in branches auxiliary to surgery, or postgraduate students in an MCI-recognised surgery course. Pays the same life subscription and may later advance to Full membership.
Honorary Member
Awarded at the discretion of the Executive Committee to individuals it considers suitable and deserving.
Overseas Member
Practitioners registered outside India, holding a recognised postgraduate surgical qualification. May be of any nationality.
Senior Member
Full members aged 60+ with 25 years of continuous membership, or any member above 60, may opt for Senior status at half the Life subscription.
Eligibility
The Executive Committee has final authority to decide the category to which an applicant may be admitted.
Process
Complete the application form with a recent photo, contact details, proof of qualification and registration, and a signed declaration of nationality and commitment to ethical practice and the Society's rules.
Every applicant must be proposed and seconded by Full or Senior members, and is admitted only after Executive Committee approval.
Membership formally commences on the day the Executive Committee accepts the application.
